Combos
Mastering Jazz Performance & Leadership
jazz Combos are a smaller, auditioned group of students who receive intense instruction outside of normal ensemble days in playing Jazz music in a smaller, more independent setting.
The Cincinnati Jazz Academy offers three different Combos, starting with a lab combo where students get the hands on training needed to play in a jazz combo. The other two combos learn repertoire to be performed at various events throughout the year when having a full jazz ensemble would be prohibitive.
Students in our combos have performed in collaboration with the Cincinnati May Festival, as pre concert music for musicians such as Christian McBride, and for ArtsWave- Cincinnati’s funding incubator for the arts and society.

Advanced Jazz Training
Students work with expert instructors on complex jazz arrangements, improvisation, and ensemble performance, preparing them for professional and collegiate opportunities.
Full Scholarship & Support
Full scholarships cover tuition, instrument loans, meals, transportation, and all materials, ensuring the program is accessible to all students.
Performance Opportunities
Participants perform at major jazz festivals, community events, and high-profile concerts, gaining real-world experience and stage confidence.
