Bill Pierce in Concert
The Cincinnati Jazz Academy and Jim Anderson presents jazz tenor saxophonist Bill Pierce and The Semaj’ A Consort.
A former member and musical director of Art Blakey’s Jazz Messengers and longtime collaborator with the Tony Williams Quintet, Bill Pierce has spent decades performing with icons like Freddie Hubbard and Max Roach. Now, he brings that extraordinary artistry to an intimate Cincinnati stage.
He’ll be joined by Jim Anderson on bass and The Semaj’ A Consort, an exceptional lineup of musicians including:
Art Gore on drums
Marc Fields on trombone
Sergio Pamies on Piano
Ralph DiSylvestro on trumpet

Cincinnati Jazz Academy Elementary and Junior High Concert
Celebrate the next generation of jazz musicians at this end-of-year concert featuring our Elementary and Junior High Ensembles in the Cincinnati Jazz Academy.
The concert will take place at the Kennedy Heights Arts Center Lindner Annex, 6620 Montgomery Road, on Wednesday, May 13 at 6:00 pm.
This performance offers a glimpse into the full student journey—highlighting growth in technical skill, confidence, and collaboration across grade levels. From foundational rhythms to more advanced ensemble work, students will demonstrate the progress they’ve made through consistent practice and instruction.

Dr. Rudnick's Retirement Celebration
Join us as we celebrate the remarkable career and retirement of Dr. Isidore Rudnick.
A passionate educator, visionary arts administrator, and tireless advocate, Dr. Rudnick has served as Artistic Director of the School for Creative and Performing Arts, Fine & Performing Arts Curriculum Manager for Cincinnati Public Schools, and Co-Founder and Director of the Cincinnati Jazz Academy—touching the lives of thousands of students and inspiring generations through the power of the arts.
The evening includes: dinner and drinks; a special program with testimonials from colleagues, students, and community leaders; and live performances by the talented students of the Cincinnati Jazz Academy.
Come share your appreciation, memories, and well wishes as we honor Dr. Rudnick’s legacy and enduring impact on our community.
